May I introduce myself...
I’m Gustavo Perez Diez. After my time at Arteinformado, I am delving deeper into gathering, verifying, and analyzing data in the Ibero-American art scene. I am launching my own data journalism project, where compelling visualizations will serve as valuable tools to enhance reporting and foster understanding.
What motivates me?
My goal has always been to enhance transparency and verification within the Ibero-American art system, particularly in the primary market—galleries and art fairs—where data is scarce, and visualization is nearly non-existent.
What will these visualizations look like?
I aim to create simple, easy-to-understand visuals based on data that is challenging to gather—data that often doesn’t exist and needs to be compiled from scratch.
Who is this for?
Primarily, it’s for all professionals in the art sector—artists, curators, managers, gallery owners, and collectors—but it’s also for anyone interested in art and data journalism. Since we are visual creatures, information becomes easier to understand and more enjoyable through visualization.
Are you interested?
You will be part of the first newsletter dedicated exclusively to reporting visually on developments in the Ibero-American art system.
How often will it be published?
There won't be a fixed schedule; I will share updates whenever I have the time or a new idea, following Einstein’s philosophy: “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”
